Worship Director
Position Overview:
The Worship Leader provides leadership, vision, and excellence for worship environments at Heartland Church. This role leads worship regularly, develops and pastors volunteer worship leaders and musicians, oversees worship systems and preparation, and helps shape services that awaken people to Jesus.
This position also provides leadership and support across Heartland’s multi-site contexts, collaborating with campus teams to ensure consistency, alignment, and shared culture. In addition, the Worship Leader serves as the primary worship leader for 608 Student Ministry and develops student worship leaders.

WEEKEND & EVENTS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other related duties may be assigned)
Worship Leadership & Programming
Lead worship in weekend services regularly (at least 3x monthly)
Help shape meaningful, engaging, and Christ-centered worship experiences
Participate in weekly programming meetings to prepare and align services
Attend and lead Sunday morning band run-throughs, making adjustments as needed
Input and manage lyrics for weekend services and events
Create and edit playback tracks as needed
Volunteer Team Leadership
Recruit, schedule, and develop worship volunteers using Planning Center
Oversee onboarding and assimilation of new worship volunteers
Provide coaching, encouragement, and relational investment with team members
Lead rehearsals that build clarity, unity, and confidence
Foster a culture of spiritual health, excellence, humility, and joy on worship teams
Multi-Site Worship Support
Multi-Site Worship Support
Provide oversight and support for worship across Heartland campuses
Collaborate with campus worship leaders and staff to ensure consistency and alignment
Assist with scheduling, leadership development, and ministry support as needed
Help maintain Heartland’s worship culture across locations while honoring campus context
Student Worship – 608 Ministry
Serve as the primary worship leader for 608 experiences
Recruit, schedule, and pastor student worship team members
Lead rehearsals and prepare student teams for services
Develop and disciple student worship leaders musically and spiritually
Qualifications:
A growing follower of Jesus who leads from personal faith and integrity
Demonstrated experience leading worship in a church setting
Experience in or openness to multi-site ministry leadership
Skilled vocalist and musician with the ability to lead a room confidently
Strong relational leadership and people development ability
Organizational strength and attention to detail
Proficiency with Planning Center, lyric software, and playback preferred
Collaborative, humble, team-minded leader
Passionate about building worship culture, not just worship services
