Job Summary

Dulles Church is seeking a strategic, people-oriented Director of Spiritual Growth to

serve as the right hand to our Lead Pastor — providing the organizational and

leadership strength needed to turn creative vision into actionable systems, thriving

teams, and lasting impact. This role manages our Midweek Communities, volunteer

systems, and key strategic projects, cultivating a church culture defined by excellence,

joy, humility, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

● Serve as second leader to our Lead Pastor.

● Will primarily manage and advance our Spiritual Growth Strategy (via our

church-wide growth model/map), ensuring clear pathways and compelling

opportunities for every person to take next steps in their faith and maturity.

● Direct Midweek Communities: often called ‘small groups’ or ‘community groups’,

this director will oversee our various Midweek Community strategies and goals,

leaders, engagement, and growth processes.

● Direct Volunteer Recruitment, Placement, and Training processes across all team

areas.

● Strengthen organizational systems that sustain health, integrity, and long-term

impact. Occasionally will serve as project manager on new, short term initiatives

related to spiritual growth and church development.

● Occasionally teach or communicate in church gatherings, approx. 6–8 times per

year. (This position will provide opportunities, to develop and grow as a

communicator.)

● Provide pastoral support to staff, team leaders, and key volunteers as needed.

Qualifications

Personal Character

● Spiritually mature; models discernment, integrity, and a growing relationship with

Jesus. Possesses a heart to personally grow and learn.

● Loves people deeply — especially those skeptical, broken, or far from faith. If

married, their spouse demonstrates the same mature relationship with Jesus, is

devoted to the movement of Jesus’ church, and loves people so well.

● Emotionally healthy, humble, and fun.

Education & Experience

● Has a minimum of five years experience leading spiritual growth initiatives.

● Has earned a minimum of a Bachelors degree.

Leadership & Skills

● Lives out H3 Leadership: humble, hungry, and hard-working.

● Organized — able to build systems, develop leaders, and develops a reputation

for getting things done quickly.

● Team-builder who inspires others and aligns them around mission and culture.

● Effective communicator with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.

● Understands and is well versed in American, student, music, pop, and social

● Salary range starts at $75,000 and is dependent upon experience & education

● Family Healthcare Plan

● Paid Vacation:

  • 1–2 years: 10 days

  • 3-5 years: 15 days

  • 6–7 years: 20 days

  • 8 years: +1 additional ‘summer sabbatical’ week annually
