Adult Ministries Director
REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor
ONE SENTENCE JOB DESCRIPTION
Inspire adults to follow Jesus by leading a team of caregivers, mentors, and facilitators that shepherds adults into an ever-expanding network of small groups where people experience accountability, belonging, and care as they connect relationally and grow spiritually.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead & build the department which encompasses Care, Affinity Gatherings, Short-term Groups, Community Groups, and Round-Table Events, overseeing their leaders, coaches, and volunteers
Lead leaders to lead leaders by casting vision (write, talk, film); creating leaders (recruit, model, teach, evaluate, coach); and crafting systems (draft, document, publicize, teach, reinforce, maintain, refresh)
Recruit, schedule, train, connect, appreciate, develop, and lead the volunteers
Develop the care network that consistently routes care needs to small groups, serve teams, and calls/notes of encouragement
Maintain a referral list of vetted counselors
Shepherd adult baptism candidates through our documented baptism pathway
Oversee all aspects of funerals, involving the LP when appropriate
Coordinate the development of periodic devotional plans to compliment a series or season
Maintain a limited library of self-guided videos on relevant care topics
Develop a small team of vetted mentors for limited relevant topics
Oversee periodic topical events as on-ramps to groups (parenting, finances, etc.)
Hold occasional care-based short-term groups to address common heartaches (divorce, grief, etc.)
Develop affinity events and the connection facet of other strategic events
Cultivate a bench of potential group leaders
Create momentum for group signups and new group launches, connecting interested group members to qualified leaders
Schedule regular coffee meetings with potential volunteers and existing team, coaching them through curriculum choices, difficult situations, etc.
Ensure fun, helpful, and engaging small group experiences
Track group participation
Evaluate the quality of small groups, events, and environments, working with volunteers to continually grow/improve
Hold periodic group leader huddle events in conjunction with LP
Coordinate periodic round-table studies that further equip engaged attenders
Share in the hosting and speaking responsibilities periodically
Oversee the organization of Adult Ministries spaces and storage
Manage budget for the department, excluding salaries
Stay in contact with the LP regarding critical issues
Work with LP to create periodic training materials and hold training/appreciation events
Provide all publicly distributed materials through the church office for processing
Meet regularly with LP to synergize efforts, proposals, and calendars
Participate in LOC team meetings and ICN calls, conferences, training resources, and visits
Lean into ICN contacts for areas that are not your natural expertise
Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Work Schedule: 45-50 Hours Weekly, Sunday - Thursday (typically)
