ABOUT B’ROOT CHURCH

B’Root Church is a small gathering of people meeting in homes, following the North Point network of churches since 2021 when we incorporated as a church in Montana. In 2023 we became an Irresistible Church Network (ICN) partner.

We are seeking a Church Planter Lead Pastor to help us grow and serve our 60-mile-long valley communities by offering a church experience different than is currently available. Our vision is for an outward-focused church to help people know and follow Jesus rather than simply believe in Him. We want our community to be glad we are here because we are loving people well.

ABOUT THE BITTERROOT VALLEY

The Bitterroot Valley in southwestern Montana is sometimes called the “banana belt” because, for a Rocky Mountain region, our climate is relatively mild. We are surrounded by beautiful forested mountains with a river running through the valley. The area offers vast opportunities for recreation—fishing, hiking, cycling, boating, climbing, skiing, hunting, horseback riding, and snowmobiling—all in the midst of remarkable scenery.

MISSION & ROLE

Mission: Our mission is to inspire people to follow Jesus.

One-sentence Job Description: Create an irresistible church in the Bitterroot Valley by casting vision, crafting systems, motivating leaders, and inspiring and equipping volunteers to personally engage in our mission, vision, and strategy.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication

  • Effectively cast vision to volunteers, community-partnering activities, and other critical areas of focus.

  • Ensure quality service production to create effective engagement.

  • Provide quality, relevant teaching as Lead Pastor—mixed with other communicators from North Point Church—until the church is large enough to support additional staff and grow into local messaging.

Leadership

  • Select and guide the leadership team to advise and shape strategy.

  • Create, direct, and support the leadership development of volunteers and eventually paid staff.

  • Lead the Elder Team and other volunteers to provide key ministry input, inspiring them to inform and influence others in their circles.

  • Provide leadership to create and support strong volunteer recruitment.

Operations

  • Develop overall budgets and oversee the financial performance of the church.

  • Ensure the church’s digital presence, physical meeting place, and individual environments remain appealing and inviting to guests.

  • Develop a plan for capital project funding.

  • Find creative paths to inspire volunteers to serve as unpaid staff until the church can afford paid staff.
