NextGen Lynnhaven Middle School Director
REPORTS TO: NextGen Lead Students Director
qualifications:
- Must have the love of Jesus for students 
- A life that exhibits a personal relationship with Jesus Christ 
- A history of training and mentoring by seasoned student ministry leaders 
- Be able to use and have a passion for the “Orange” strategy in ministry and programming 
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written 
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
- Provide relevant, interesting, creative, and appropriate programming skills—large groups, small groups, worship team 
- Place high value on quality of production – décor, music, setting, feel, background music, staging, food, etc. and have the ability, creativity, and leadership to execute 
- The ability to recruit, train and equip volunteers 
- Ability to care for parents and families of students while also connecting, partnering, and equipping them to parent their child 
- Experience in team building, vision casting, leading small groups, parents and volunteer teams 
- Must be a team player; able to work well with the people within this ministry, as well as the other ministries and staff 
- Must relate well with a diverse groups of students 
- Strong technical skills—with computers, sound, lighting 
- Self motivated and flexible with strong organizational skills 
- Need a high energy level and the physical ability to be active with students participating in activities and trips 
- Four-year degree is required 
general responsibilities:
- Develop, administrate, and direct the Lynnhaven Middle School ministries in line with a multi- campus perspective. 
- Facilitate use of Orange Strategy while implementing multiple different curriculums 
- Write the content (sermons and small group questions) of middle school curriculum well in advance to when it will be utilized 
- Cast vision and set goals in line with ministry plan 
- Collaborate with Phase Directors and Multi-Campus Team to determine and plan calendar and content. 
- Lead teams of volunteers representing Production, Small Groups, Set-up/tear-down, and Guest Services for each service at the Lynnhaven Campus 
- Build teams of volunteers using NextGen Volunteer Process. 
- Recruit, manage, train, and schedule Middle School volunteers for Lynnhaven Campus. 
- Encourage, empower and equip ministry teams and leaders. 
- Equip and empower students to serve within their ministries and beyond 
- Lead/attend team building, planning and training meetings. 
- Partner with families in providing pastoral care and resources. 
- Participate in and facilitate NextGen events. 
- Know and adhere to policies and procedures. 
- Participate in program evaluations. 
- Facilitate communication between campuses, families and NextGen. 
- Create a safe environment that facilitates the objectives of the program. 
- Manage budget/expenditures with responsibility and integrity. 
- Maintain meeting schedules and calendar. 
- Perform other departmental tasks as assigned. 
- Utilize individual gifts and talents (ex: speaking, curriculum, etc.) 
- Prioritize and pursue his/her own relationship with Jesus Christ as a model to the rest of the staff. 
- Know, understand and pray for our vision of more grace changed lives. 
- A heart to grow the ministry grow numerically and in depth spiritually 
- Connect with schools to partner, support, and develop relationships with faculty and students
