rebranding christianity

Our culture thinks we’re the problem. Jesus says we’re the solution.

In this video, Jeff Jones gets honest about Christianity's brand problem—and what his church is doing about it:

  1. The culture's view of Christians keeps getting worse each year, and Jesus made that our problem to fix—not through PR, but through how we love.

  2. "Love one another the way I've loved you" was Jesus' own brand strategy for his followers.

  3. One initiative: showing up for people who assume the church hates them—including partnering alongside an AIDS services organization serving the LGBT community.

  4. Another: a revolving bail fund for nonviolent offenses, paid quietly, no strings attached.

  5. Expectations of the church are so low right now that it doesn't take much to surprise people toward the positive.

Plus: the branding expert who initially refused to work with the church, believing it would be "immoral" to help an evangelical church—and later became an enthusiastic partner once he saw what "unexpected love" actually looked like.
