Student Pastor
REPORTS TO: Pastor of Ministries
Purpose Statement:
To lead people into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ by providingleadership, development, and direction for the True Students Ministry staff and volunteer teams as it pertains to the vision, mission, and strategy of TrueNorth Church.
Position Summary:
The Student Pastor will oversee the True Students ministry, including the team and all events related to students and their families. They will ensure that the True Students Ministry is a pipeline for students moving between childhood and adulthood by casting vision and creating attractive environments where students can belong and become more like Jesus.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, assist in the development of, and equip all True Students ministry staff for success.
Teach on a weekly basis with relevant and challenging messages that connect with students.
Visit local schools and build a relational bridge between TrueNorth and schools.
In consultation with other church leaders, continually evaluate the vision for the True Students ministry and how it contributes to TrueNorth’s overall vision. Maintain a ministry plan that achieves that vision.
Provide vision and lead the True Students ministry team in recruiting, developing, and deploying ministry volunteers.
Report regularly to TrueNorth leadership the state of, concerns of, and wins of the True Students ministry.
In consultation with other staff and senior church leadership, develop an annual budget for the True Students ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget.
Work with Safety Team to maintain a safe environment that protects students in our church’s care.
Counsel, visit, and care for students, families, and volunteers as needed.
Network with other student pastors and ministries.
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week Regular office hours, Monday-Thursday and Sundays. Sunday (8), Monday (7.5), Tuesday (7.5), Wednesday (7.5), Thursday (7.5), Flex (2)
