The Role:

The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a vital role in fulfilling The Avenue Church’s vision. This role requires proficiency in management to lead a multi-faceted team responsible for implementing The Avenue Church’s physical and digital communications strategy. Primarily, the Marketing and Communications Manager will relate closely with the Executive Pastor of Experience to develop and implement strategies that amplify the priorities and passions of The Avenue Church. This includes developing and leading the staff and teams responsible for all communications and marketing strategies that emphasize the discipleship efforts of The Avenue Church.

This role is also responsible for keeping The Avenue Church’s brand and marketing direction innovative, intentional, and engaging. All elements and campaigns should be planned with intentionality, executed with excellence, and evaluated for future improvement. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for creating content and promotional material that is engaging and shares compelling stories. The successful candidate will oversee and drive all marketing and communication outlets to deliver content consistent with the brand, character, and culture at The Avenue Church.

Oversight:

  • Marketing and Communication Department at large (personnel, content, strategies, analytics, budgets)

  • Organization-wide promotional content and language for all externally facing classes and events (brand coherency in mind)

  • Organization-wide external marketing and communications strategies, implementation, analytics, and reporting

  • Promotional/marketing-related social media content and verbiage

responsibilities:

  • Manage the vision and direction of all marketing and communications efforts of The Avenue Church.

  • Amplify the vision and direction of The Avenue Church through the marketing and promotion of all external classes and events, working closely with all ministry teams to help market those discipleship efforts.

  • Act as marketing and communications consultant for any and all ministries, helping them dictate the best marketing strategy for their classes/events based on the value system of The Avenue Church as defined by the Senior Pastor and Executive Team.

  • Bring oversight to The Avenue’s communications and marketing imprint with an emphasis on brand coherency.

  • Manage The Avenue Church’s online presence with regards to social media, web,app and mass communications.

  • Build, lead, develop, and shepherd the social media and photography staff and volunteers.

  • Content writer - help give definition to The Avenue’s voice by providing direction for organizational language at large.

  • Manage projects and timelines for the Marketing and Communications Department.

  • Translate ideas generated into completed and effective communication strategies and campaigns.

  • Oversee all marketing and communications efforts for the church at large and all subsequent ministries including ongoing engagement and analytical evaluation of results.

  • Help guide and give vision to the communicative aspects of weekend experiences and special events as needed.

  • Serve the mission and vision of The Avenue under the leadership of the Executive Director of Experience and the Executive Team.

qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar leadership role

  • Proven success in managing teams and meeting deadlines

  • Portfolio of previous work that displays an ability to turn an idea into visual and written pieces individually or through a team

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of social media engagement and marketing strategies

  • Experience with major creative software platforms a plus
