Director of Student Ministry

Purpose statement
Our purpose is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating engaging environments where students can prioritize their relationship with Jesus, positively influence their friends, own their faith, and experience personal ministry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership
Be a raving fan by positively reflecting the vision, mission, strategy, and values to everyone inside and outside the church.
Develop, inspire, equip, and empower the student ministry team to personally engage with our mission, vision, and strategy.
Facilitate healthy team dynamics by leading the student ministry team to personally embrace the Church at Tuscaloosa staff values.
Be responsible for the professional development of the student ministry team.
Work with the lead pastor to ensure that we are a great local church for students.
Be a team player and take part in helping TCAT win, even in areas outside your ministry.
Programming
Oversee weekly programming for both middle and high school environments.
Oversee programming for all student ministry events.
Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to set long-term goals.
Recruit and develop student programming teams (worship leaders, hosts, production, etc.).
Groups
Monitor the overall health and direction of middle and high school small groups.
Develop a strategy to consistently recruit, train, and develop small group leaders.
Ensure every student is connected to a caring leader who is equipped to lead, and to a consistent group of peers.
Be responsible for the promotion of rising 6th and 9th graders.
Collaborate
Work closely with Lead Pastor and Children’s Ministry Director to create a cohesive “cradle to college” strategy to engage families long-term at TCAT.
Leverage relationships with YoungLife to discover and create connection points at TCAT.
Form relationships that will help our students at each school feel connected to TCAT.
Help our church WIN at creating a church that unchurched people love to attend through the environments that we create, the relationships that we build, and the story that we tell.
Work Hours: 40 hours Sunday-Thursday
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, can sit for long periods of time, be able to stand for long periods of time, be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
